Taking the day off
Ever been tempted to take the day off work and you are looking for a tangible excuse that will fool the boss?
Everyone has taken the odd day off here and there. A well known associate of Bush Guru even told him that he thought it was good for his employees to cheat the system once in a while.
However, recently Bush Guru has heard the best ever excuse for not working hard, or even at all: witchcraft. It was reported recently that a village headman had been accused of witchcraft by (more or less) throwing a cloud of lethargy over the village. As one of the villagers said, “I find myself very tired and can’t be bothered to work, it must be witchcraft.”
Now, in many parts of Africa (and beyond) witchcraft still holds a lot of power over people. However, in the steel and glass jungles of the western world this excuse might have your boss either frowning or giving you a raise for sheer ingenuity.
