Here in Chobe it’s been a hot couple of weeks. Rather than being threatening, the clouds have been, well, fluffy. However, after 10 days of 30º+, and just in time to coincide with Bush Guru’s first guests of the year, the heavens have opened and the Chobe area has seen the full force of nature’s picturesque lighting storms. This means beautifully lit up night skies and very soggy impalas.

Despite the lack of rain during the last couple of weeks, the Chobe River is already on the rise. The river side lodges, never real fans of sand bags, will soon be putting arrangements into place to ensure everyone can get to the bar without having to step on a hippo or crocodile on the way. The Delta is also seeing water levels already rising and there could be a record breaking on the way by some accounts. More news on this as it comes in. Can anyone suggest a good brand of boat for Bush Guru?
